450 Tons of Waste Removed from Kramat Jati Market

The first day of garbage removal at the Kramat Jati Market in East Jakarta cleared approximately 450 tons of trash. Currently, an estimated 1,300 tons of trash remains at the site.

There are still around 1,300 tons

Kramat Jati District's Environmental Unit Head, Dwi Firmansyah said the collected trash is disposed of to Bantar Gebang Dump Site, Bekasi, West Java.

23 Trucks Deployed to Transport Waste from Kramat Jati Market

"The initial plan was for 23 trucks, but only 20 were operational because three experienced technical problems," he said, Friday (1/9).

According to him, the entire fleet completed a total of 31 transport trips. Some trucks were able to complete two trips, while others only completed one due to long queues at the Bantar Gebang dump site.

"There are still around 1,300 tons of trash remaining, cleaning activities will continue today and are targeted to be completed by the day after tomorrow, Sunday," he added.

Dwi hopes that the trash management process at Kramat Jati Market can be completed according to the established schedule. However, he emphasized that smooth transportation also depends on weather conditions at the Bantar Gebang dump site.

"If there is heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning, waste disposal services at the Bantar Gebang dump site will be temporarily suspended until weather conditions return to normal," he explained.
